Operating the Teleprompter 9/16/13

After class I went to the studio to see if there was any job I could perform. I was one of the first people there, and since I learned how to operate the teleprompter the previous week, I was given the opportunity to try it out. Using the teleprompter seemed to be easy at first, but it became increasingly frustrating to catch up or slow down with the pace of the news anchor. I wouldn't enjoy operating it again because since it's seen as such a simple job, so whenever you mess up people are more critical of your performance.

First trip to the Studio 9/9/13

My first trip to the studio gave me an introduction of how the equipment works as well as the overall operation of the news show. While I didn't perform a specific job, I was able to gather more information about the teleprompter and figure out how to operate it. I also met the news staff and got a better understanding of the editing process.

Men's Soccer Game

On September 9, Ryan Buckley and I videoed a  Men's soccer game. I had never been to a soccer game before, therefore I had no idea of what to look for when shooting the event. Ryan and I went to the top of the tower and he taught me how to operate the camera. He let me take control of the camera at some points and showed me how to maneuver it and operate all of its fancy buttons. Throughout the game, I operated the FSC Athletics twitter page and gave updates on the game.
